The University of La Verne currently offers two 16 week semesters and a winter term in January known as “Jan Term” for the academic year. Most universities like Chapman University, UC Berkeley and the Pomona Colleges that are on a semester system offer 15 week semesters instead.

In response to the May 14 Faculty Assembly resolution that affirmed a Faculty Hiring Plan that endorses race-based hiring, I would like to express my reassurance that this resolution is non-binding and that it is not and will not be University policy.
President Steve Morgan sent out an e-mail to faculty announcing that, with the endorsement of the Board of Trustees, he had decided to removed the word “interim” from Provost Greg Dewey’s title on Nov. 23.
The University of La Verne will undergo new academic assessments under the leadership of Aghop Der-Karabetian, who will assume the position of associate vice president of university assessment for academic affairs.
