University of La Verne students gathered in Founders Auditorium last Tuesday to be recognized by what Dr. William Cook, vice president of academic affairs, called "an Academic Awards Night celebration."

Mr. Anklin's article about the tragic shooting in Colorado is another example "passing the buck." He says that politicians -- more accurately, "political right-wing morons" -- are responsible for blaming the actions on movies, video games and CDs. Mr. Anklin is a hypocrite.

Jazz bands debut compositions

Jazz has often been classified as the music heard when riding in an elevator. The kind of music that can only be tolerated for the short ride between floors, but by the reactions from the audience at Monday night's performance, there is no way an elevator could hold this kind of excitement.
