If all went well this morning in San Quentin, then there is one less criminal crowding the California Penal system. At 12:01 a.m., mass murderer William Bonin became the first person executed via lethal injection in California.

Tearing down legislation that would impose on an individual’s personal freedom to choose should be supported. However, if removing legislation would send the number of fatalities skyrocketing, people should be willing to sacrifice this freedom.

A law-abiding citizen, or the owner of a 1984 Datsun with a four cylinder engine, may already get enraged at speed demons flying past them at 75 or 80 mph or higher on the freeway, but they have not seen anything yet.

On the road, there are rules that drivers learn to follow. For example, the four lanes of the freeway fall into categories: very slow, slow, fast and very fast. The speed limit simply serves as a medium for drivers of every kind.
