Some people look at barbershop kids as the nerds on campus, but the ULV Barbershop club held a tag contest Tuesday as a way to squash those stereotypes and educate about barbershop music.
Nostalgia was in the air as students got animated singing “Summer Nights” from the musical “Grease,” among other favorite show tunes Nov. 20 in Morgan Auditorium for “Barbershop on Broadway,” the A Cappella Barbershop Club’s fall concert.
The University’s Barbershop Club side-stepped onto the stage behind a large, cardboard cut out of a replica of the most well-known yellow submarine, drawing a gust of laughter from the excited audience.
Senior photography major Gabriel De Alba displayed photos of his friends performing skateboarding tricks in the from of bowl skating, grinding and more as a part of an exhibit titled “Momentum” at the Ground Floor Gallery in Miller Hall last week.
Student vocalists and pianists performed a variety of art pieces from songs to arias Friday at the music department’s Fridays at Noon concert series at Morgan Auditorium.
