Worker Injured
Richard Puente, a housekeeping worker, was injured Monday morning when a motor driven cart ran over him and dragged him across the pavement in an alley area adjacent to the maintenance department, according to Brian Worley, director of facilities management.
The accident occurred as Puente was under the cart fixing the accelerator pedal. Paramedics responded immediately, and Puente was taken to a nearby hospital.
Puente sustained fractures to his collar bone, but was not hospitalized.
According to Joanne Gonzales, director of housekeeping services, Puente is doing fine and should be back to work in about one week.
