‘Welcome Here!’ Exhibit
The Harris Gallery will display “Welcome Here!,” a group exhibition featuring the works of 14 artists curated by Jennifer Vanderpool. The exhibit runs Tuesday through Oct. 27, with an opening reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday featuring a talk by some of the artists. Admission is free.
‘Depth of Field’
The Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography will host its second bi-annual photography adjunct faculty exhibition, “Depth of Field,” featuring the work of adjunct photography professors at the University of La Verne. The exhibit runs from Wednesday through Oct. 14. A gallery reception and artists’ walkthrough will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sep. 29. Admission is free.
‘The Art of Type’
The Kellogg University Art Gallery is currently displaying “Ink and Clay 45 – The Art of Type,” an on-site exhibition and annual nationwide competition consisting of different art pieces made using ink or clay. This exhibition runs through Nov. 17. The gallery on the Cal Poly Pomona campus is open 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, and noon-4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is free.
“Breaking Ground’
The American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona will host the opening reception of the exhibition “Breaking Ground: Women in California Clay” from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 10. This exhibit celebrates 44 artists who defined and redefined ceramics over the past 100 years. Admission is free with advance registration. AMOCA is located at 399 N. Garey Ave., near the Pomona Arts Colony.
SoCal Anime
SoCal Anime’s first ever three-day long convention will bring Japanese culture and more to the Fairplex at 1101 W. McKinley Ave. in Pomona. The convention will take place from noon-10 p.m. Sept. 16-18. For tickets and more information, visit socalanime.us.
