Donations from Trustees, alumni, students and other supporters of the University helped raise $907,000 at the annual Scholarship Gala, Saturday in the Sheraton Fairplex conference hall.
The night kicked off with a reception where select students, and guests mingled and snacked on hors d’oeuvres.
Dion Johnson, director of galleries and distinguished artist, showcased University of La Verne art students’ work in comparison to iconic artists in history like Pablo Picasso.
The University automatically includes an Associated Students of University of La Verne activity fee into traditional undergraduate tuition that helps pay for the numerous on and off campus events, including their biggest of the spring semester, Lavernapalooza.
