As she finished her workout with squats, pull, clean and jerk, and snatch, Hailey McCann sat on the floor, deciding if she wanted to go to In-N-Out for a burger with animal fries or to Little Caeser’s for a deep dish pizza.

The hallway that once had just vending machines and trophies in the Athletics Pavilion now has a hole in the wall. From that hole shines the light of a new office for Laura Gajdosik, the intramural sports coordinator.

The stands were filled with students, parents, alumni and other members of the La Verne community to commemorate the grand opening of the Campus West athletics facility. Located on Wheeler Avenue, the new baseball and softball fields at the facility finally made their debut Tuesday.

West Campus Athletics Complex is the new home for the University of La Verne’s softball and baseball team.

While editorials such as that presented in last week’s Campus Times are opinions, as professional journalists I would have hoped you would have examined some of the facts before launching into your commentary on Leo Park.
