Say au revoir to kiddie pageants

Recently, the French Parliament decided in a 196 to 146 vote to ban beauty pageants for children under 16. It will become law if it passes the National Assembly in November. French kiddie pageant organizers could face up to two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros ($40,000), according to the Washington Post.

Jenna Talackova is a male to female transgender who has been living as a recognized woman since her gender reassignment surgery in 2008, when she was 19 years old. Talackova entered the pageant meeting all outlined requirements for contestants. In the entry form there is no mention of sex changes or cosmetic surgery being against the rules for entry.

Lauren Moon has always made a name for herself, but in 2007 she exploded when she was crowned Miss La Verne, spoke at her graduation, graduated from the University of La Verne with a 3.94 GPA and was crowned a top 10 finalist in the Miss California Pageant.
