Cupid has arrived once again, and for those who have been struck with no idea of what to get that Valentine, here are a few ideas of where to go and what to do to still make the night special.
If spending money is not a problem, San Dimas has a beautiful secluded area where Puddingstone Hot Tubs Resort is open to the public. On Valentine’s Day, the Resort rents out a private tub for $50 per hour. In exchange, the couple will get an open view of Puddingstone Lake with its surrounding hills.
The resort is specially designed with private tubs, each with a radio and candle. Visitors sit under three walls surrounding the tub in front of a view which is directly facing the lake. There is a section for changing and holding personal belongings.
Couples can have picnic-style dinners placed in the tub, or may order a Valentine’s balloon bouquet to be placed in the tub before arrival. The bouquet features balloons, a red rose, candy, sparkling cider and champagne glasses.

Another hot spot to go to is a secluded park. A private picnic with a blanket, radio, candles and food from your favorite Valentine’s restaurant can be easily enjoyed.
In order to surprise that Valentine, however, special assistance is required. A group of people can organize the rendezvous while you and your Valentine get to the designated area; once there, the picnic will be set up and ready to go.
Another suggestion is horseback riding, which can get a bit expensive. However, if interested there are a few places that can offer Valentine’s Day specials.
Since this year’s Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday, a bonfire at the beach for two, followed by dinner in a nice restaurant can make it just right.
If any of these ideas seem unfriendly to the wallet, making a Valentine’s Day gift from scratch is just as romantic and just as meaningful as any picnic or hot tub resort. Scrapbooks, photo albums and tapes with slow jams are also good ideas to surprise that special someone.
For those who like cooking, baking cookies and goodies to take to a romantic site are also good to have. If the weather seems to interfere with the plans, having an indoor picnic in front of a fire place will have just as good results.
