With a first round score of 317, a 299 second round and 292 third round, the Leopards finished the NCAA Men’s Division III National Championships in 8th place with a total score of 908.
According to golfstat.com, the Leopards were ranked No. 10 in the latest Division III poll prior to the start of the tournament.
After winning the 2010 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships for the fourth consecutive year, the men’s golf team headed to the Hershey Links in Hershey, Penn., to take a shot at the NCAA Championships, held May 11-14.
The Leopards leading performers were 2010 first team all-SCIAC honorees Mitch Fedorka who finished even par for the 3-day tournament while Eric Bunge finished the tournament at one over par.
No. 1 seed Methodist University took the championship.

Correction
In the story “SCIAC champs place 8th at NCAAs” in the May 14 issue, the results of the NCAA Men’s Division III National Championships were given incorrectly. The University of La Verne men’s golf team finished fifth in the team standings in the four-day tournament. Mitch Fedorka finished five under-par and second in the individual standings.
