“Celebrate the Reason for the Season,” is the theme for this year’s Holiday Dinner. The feast is a bit different than it has been in the past, as a dance will immediately follow the dinner.
The Associated Student (ASF) Forum is the sponsor of this year’s Holiday Dinner. Davenport Dining Hall is catering the entire feast. The menu consists of a traditional Christmas dinner, including turkey and all the fixings. The dinner will be held in the Student Center Gym with the dance immediately following downstairs in the carpet area of the Student Center.
All undergraduates are invited. Attire is semiformal.
Faculty and staff serve as table hosts and provide centerpieces and carving utensils
“This allows the faculty to get to know their students,” said Amy Attiyah, sophomore Forum member.
“It’s fun and it’s a way to hang out with students and get to know them better,” said Shane Rodrigues, radio/television assistant, who will host a table, bringing his traditional pineapple centerpiece.
Residents will use their meal cards and commuter students will be admitted free of charge. The faculty will meet for a reception beginning at 4:30 p.m. and all students will begin check-in at 5 p.m. The Holiday Dinner will start at 5:30 p.m.
President Stephen Morgan is scheduled to address attendees. Dan Lougheed, ASF president, will deliver this year’s special award, which is confidential until the night of the dinner.
The goal for the dinner is to bring unity to the campus.
“I hope to bring the ULV community together, and remind them the reason for the season,” said Attiyah.
