President earns accolade

Rewarded for his student leadership, University of La Verne President Stephen Morgan was chosen to be one of the four inductees honored at the Covina High School Hall of Fame on Friday, March 8.

Dr. Morgan served as the Class of 1964 Associated Student Body vice president while in high school.

According to Dr. Morgan, the inductees, who are chosen every two years, are selected by community members and administrators of Covina.

“I was truly honored,” he said. “It was fun to go back to high school. I hadn’t been back on campus since I graduated.”

A gavel symbolizing student leadership, with Dr. Morgan’s name below it, has been placed in the Covina gymnasium, along with articles that represent the other inductees.

Among the guests at the night’s festivities was Dr. Ahmed Ispahani, professor of business administration and economics.

“It is considered a great honor,” he said. “It was a great honor for the whole ULV community.”

Dr. Ispahani, who was asked to speak on Dr. Morgan’s accomplishments, is among the professors who taught Dr. Morgan as a student.
