Irene Carlson Photo Gallery

The photography department will host a reception for the opening of “Sheltered: An Exhibition of Photographs by Karen Tapia” on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. in the Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography. The exhibition opens Monday.

Cult-classic movie in 3-D

The El Capitan Theater in Hollywood will be playing the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas” in 3-D starting Friday and will run through Wednesday. Times and ticket prices vary, so visit www.elcapitantheater.com for more information.

Claremont Folk Music Concert

Unique L.A. art show

Track 16 Gallery in Santa Monica will have “Robbie Conal: No Spitting No Kidding” opening Friday. The artist is known for his trademark posters featuring his unique portraiture style and knack for satirical puns. The exhibition will be up until Nov. 22. For more information visit www.track16.com.
