Javier Álvarez’s ‘Prédio’
The Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography is currently showing photographer Javier Álvarez’s “Prédio” exhibition. The exhibit documents about 400 people in Brazil occupying offices adapted into rooms of 50 to 100 square feet under a decent housing solution. “Prédio” runs through March 24 in Miller Hall.
‘Humanifestation’ Student Exhibition
“Humanifestation” is a University of La Verne photography student exhibition exploring the human disruption in nature. Displayed is work by senior photography major Nareg Agopian, senior criminology major Drake Ingram, senior photography major Darcelle Jones-Wesley, senior photography major Casi Martinez, senior photography major Natalie Medrano, junior journalism major Abelina J. Nuñez and junior digital media major Amanda Torres. “Humanifestation” is on view until March 24 in Miller Hall’s Ground Floor Gallery.
‘Asymmetrical Orbits’
Harris Gallery at the University of La Verne’s new exhibition, “Asymmetrical Orbits,” features sculptures by artists Linda Nguyen Lopez, Jon Pylypchuk, Nicolas Shake, Vincent Tomczyk and Connie Martin Trevino. Harris Gallery is open Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment. The exhibition is on view until March 23.
An Artful Reframing
The West Gallery in the Campus Center is currently hosting “An Artful Reframing: Expanding Our ULV Story through an Inclusive Voice,” an exhibition that focuses the University’s history, heritage and identity. The exhibit critically engages with the University’s predominantly white history and highlights stories that give shape its current diverse, multicultural and Hispanic serving identity. “An Artful Reframing” feature work from Sylvia Mac, director of the Center for Learning Innovation; Niki Elliott, co-director of the Center for Neurodiversity, Learning and Wellness; Benjamin Jenkins, University archivist; and artist Ruby Osorio. The exhibit will run through April 12. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Glass House
Brujeria, a deathgrind metal band from Mexico, will perform Friday at the Glass House in Pomona. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $32.
The Glass House will also host Emo Night on Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Joti Rockwell
Joti Rockwell, professor of music at Pomona College, will perform at the Folk Music Center in Claremont at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, but a donation is highly encouraged. The Folk Music Center is located at 220 Yale Avenue in Claremont.
Nick Vest
Artist Nick Vest has a pop-up exhibition, “Work Made in Residence,” at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona. The exhibit features Vest’s new work created during his residency at the AMOCA studio. The exhibit will be on view in Gallery B through March 26 and with an opening reception 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. AMOCA is located at 399 N. Garey Ave.
