Rain knocks over oak tree on Third Street

A live oak tree fell onto Third Street at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday following the heavy rains delivered by winter storms over the past week. Third Street was closed down in both directions until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday so that city employees could remove the tree and clean up debris. There were no injuries. This is the second historic live oak tree that has been lost on the University of La Verne campus due to the heavy rains this winter.
