Dear Editor,
I think Laura Czingula’s column [“Do not take gifts for granted,” Sept. 26] was very important because college students tend to think nothing can get in their way. That is fine as far as goals are concerned, but appreciating what you do have is one of the most productive ways to live life. There are 50 million handicapped people in the United States. Because I have a progressive illness that was diagnosed in my late 30’s, I wish I had appreciated all the wonderful years I had running and taking aerobics. Now I appreciate just walking to my classroom. Take Laura’s message to heart, because she is right.
