The postponed Benefit Punk Show, which was originally scheduled for March 2, will be held Saturday, May 5, from 2 to 6:30 p.m.
According to Michael Houdyshell, coordinator of campus activities and commuter programs, an ongoing collaboration with the La Verne Police and Fire Departments resulted in approval from both sanctions to hold the show.
With this approval, Houdyshell and the Associated Students Federation (ASF) Forum, took their proposal to the La Verne City Council meeting on April 16, and received clearance to hold the event.
A few alterations were made by ASF for the show. Instead of holding the show during the week, they opted to hold it on a Saturday.
The event will be held during the day hours instead of at night, and will be located in the Second Street parking lot and not the library lot.
Houdyshell said ASF and coordinators of the event are currently “working out the kinks for the event,” in regards to final plans.
