Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I would like to commend writer Robert Penalber for highlighting the important Migrant Education Summer Institute in your first publication of the year (“Migrant students succeed with Migrant Education Summer Institute,” Sept. 7). The Institute should be showcased for its efforts to make education as accessible as possible for all students. The hard work of Dr. Adonay Montes and his team should also be recognized for the countless hours spent on making this program a success. As an employee and alumna, I am incredibly proud of my university for reaching out to this underserved community and its efforts to make the idea of going to college less of a dream and more of a reality.
