First Street becomes one-way

During the summer of 2008, First Street, south of the campus, was converted into a westbound one-way street to accommodate construction traffic for the Abraham Campus Center. According to local residents, traffic, parking and increased trash have brought up concerns after the change. First Street was moved to the south of its original location in the early 1970s to make way for construction of the Supertents. With the one-way change, called “temporary” by ULV officials, 38 new unrestricted parallel parking spaces were added. / photo by Walter Mansilla
