Holiday Serenade

The ULV Recorder Ensemble will perform the Holiday Stairwell Serenade today from the third floor of Founders Hall at 9:30 a.m. Directed by Anita Hanawalt, the program includes Christmas and Hanukkah music sung by students, alumni and community members.

Art Exhibit

The Art Department will showcase its first art exhibit in the Arts and Communications Building’s “Tall Wall Space” starting Monday and continuing through January 31, 2002. The artist’s reception will take place Thursday.


Two new movies open in general release today. The first is “Behind Enemy Lines,” which has been marketed toward male audiences and stars Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson.

The second is “Texas Rangers,” starring “Dawson’s Creek” star James Van Der Beek and singer Usher Raymond. Both films are rated PG-13.

Album Charts

Last week saw several albums debuts by many different artists in the music industry, but it was Creed that stole the No. 1 spot, selling 887,000 copies of “Weathered.”

Other artists, like Kid Rock and Pink, debuted in the top 10, at numbers seven and eight, respectively.

Exhibition highlights themes of mysticism, nostalgia

Themes of mysticism, distortion and nostalgia permeated throughout the show. The intention of the exhibition is to rouse participation, where attendants are encouraged to step out of themselves and into the art.
