Art Exhibit

Two new exhibitions open at the Getty Museum this week. The first, “Devices of Wonder,” features nearly 400 objects from the 1600s to the present. The other exhibit is “Manuel Alvarez Bravo: Optical Parables,” which claims to trace the artistic evolution of Bravo’s photography. Both exhibits run through February. Theater

“Cloud 9,” the latest play to show at the Dailey Theatre, concludes its run tonight and tomorrow night. Tickets are $3 for ULV students. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call ext. 4550.

Parade

The 25th Doo Dah Parade, the annual spoof of the Rose Parade, will take place Sunday in Pasadena. The oddball event will move along Raymond Avenue, Holly Street, Colorado Boulevard and Pasadena Avenue and starts at 11:30 a.m. For more information, call (626) 440-7379.

Movies

One of the most anticipated movies of the holiday movie season opens today. “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” which features an all-British cast, is expected to draw record numbers at the box office.
