ASF Minutes

The Associated Students Federation (ASF) Forum convened Wednesday in the West Dining Room discussing plans for Homecoming, upcoming activities and financial decision making.

Gym Allocation

Forum members were read a letter from the Athletics Department asking for a donation toward a new floor in the Student Center gymnasium. The Forum was asked to make a donation of $15,000. Because the possible allocation was so large, President Dan Lougheed decided to bring the request to the Forum meeting rather than to the Financial Review Board (FRB). It was moved that the decision to allocate would be tabled until Homecoming activities are over.

Homecoming

Homecoming committees each reported on the status of progress in the planning of the week long event. Because Homecoming is the largest event ASF sponsors for the fall semester, each Forum member and officer is on at least one committee. Among other activities, plans for Homecoming half-time, ULV Fair, parade, bonfire and Homecoming Court were reported. Members also selected Carol Fetty as Grand Marshall for the parade.

Ugly Shirt Bowl

The Ugly Shirt Bowl-a-Thon is scheduled to take place Sunday night. Committee members announced that lanes would be assigned the night of the activity and that attendance is expected to be good.
