KULV Giveaway
KULV “The Rock,” is giving away tickets to the Los Angeles County Fair and reserved seats to see “Weird Al” Yankovic in concert. KULV will be entering all winners into a drawing for four pairs of VIP tickets and backstage passes for Yankovic’s Sept. 9 performance at Fairplex Park grandstand, accompanied by his Bad Hair Band. Cheerleading Clinic
The University of La Verne’s Cheer Squad will hold a Cheer Tryout Clinic, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. in the Old Gym. The clinic is in preparation for tryouts, which are Sept. 13.
MOCA Exhibit
The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles will show “Man’s World: Selections from the Permanent Collection.” Examining the construction of male identity in art, the exhibition will continue until Oct. 13. MOCA is located at 250 South Grand Avenue in Los Angeles. Admission is $6 and $4 for students with I.D.
L.A. County Fair
The Los Angeles County Fair opens today at the Fairplex and runs through Sept. 29. Grandstand entertainment will be featured nightly beginning at 8 p.m., starting with country singer Martina McBride tonight.
Tickets for the fair are on sale now in the University Bookshoppe. Adults are $7, children are $4 and carnival tickets are $12. Tickets will be available daily until Sept. 29.
Movies opening
Opening in general release this weekend are “The Spitfire Grill,” starring Alison Elliot, and “Bulletproof,” with Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans.
