Hoping to inform students on the variety of campus clubs and school events, the University of La Verne housing department held the “Back In the Act,” rally Wednesday night in the Old Gym.
Representatives from various campus clubs and organizations had the opportunity to introduce themselves to students, as well as encourage them to join.
Students were also encouraged to be part of the school spirit by supporting school and athletic events.
Those in attendance also got the chance to participate in the prize giveaways, which consisted of CDs and gift certificates. But to win, students had to have been fortunate enough to be wearing a toe ring that night or lucky enough to have had the longest last name in the crowd.
The night was highlighted with a special guest performance from Warner Brothers recording artist RPM 2000. The trio had the crowd grooving and moving to their Rhythm and Blues sound.
Hosting the night’s event were seniors Jonathan Johnson and Isabel Nguyen.
Johnson, who is also a program assistant for the Housing Department, said he would like to make this an ongoing event for each semester to ensure new students that know about the different things that La Verne has to offer.
