In the tradition of the University of La Verne’s Mission Statement, where students are encouraged to experience community service, the Associate Student Federation (ASF) Forum and the American Cancer Society are sponsoring La Verne Cancer Walk 1999 open to all students, faculty and members of the community.
The Cancer Walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 7 from 7 a.m to 12 noon. This past week in front of the Seal there has been a table where people have been able to register as a volunteers for the event. Each volunteer receives a packet that includes sponsorship forms. All volunteer are encouraged to get at least $100 in donations. Registration ended yesterday.
Each volunteer will participate in the 10k walk, which begins at 8 a.m.
Volunteers will be a able to visit vendors and informational booths from 7 to 8 a.m. Information sheets and pamphlets on cancer will be available to educate people on the cause.
