Piano Recital
The Music Department will present Timothy Durkovic in a piano recital at 8 p.m. tonight in Founders Auditorium. Durkovic, an adjunct faculty member and artist-in-residence at the University of La Verne, is also an internationally renowned pianist. General admission is $5 and free for ULV students.
Kids Club
Michael Ryan will conduct a Kids Club Concert at 10 a.m. Oct. 11 in Founders Auditorium. The event is free and will feature interactive ways for kids to explore music. For more information call (909) 593-3511, ext. 4921 or visit www.ulv.edu/music.
Quad Series
As part of the Music Department’s “Music on the Quad” series, Mike Bennett will perform at noon on Oct. 15 in the University Quad. This event is free.
Film Screening
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 75th Anniversary Screen Series, “Facets of the Diamond: 75 years of Best Picture Winners,” will show “Forest Gump” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Preceding the screening will be footage from the 67th Academy Awards telecast. Tickets can be purchased at the Academy and are $3 for students with valid I.D’s. New on DVD
Disney’s “The Lion King,” special edition two-disc DVD was released this week for the first time. The DVD features never before seen animation integrated into the original film, the all-new song, “The Morning Report,” deleted scenes, all-new music videos and exclusive interviews with the films musical composers Elton John and Tim Rice.
