Choir Concert
The music department will showcase its Chorale and Chamber singers with two concerts this weekend. Directed by Scott Farthing, the two Spring Choir Concerts will be at 8 p.m., tonight and tomorrow in Founders Auditorium. Admission is free for students and $5 for the general public.
Student Recital
As part of the Spring Concert Series, the music department will host a student recital at noon, Oct. 22 in Founders Auditorium. Admission is free.
Film Screening
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 75th Anniversary Screen Series, “Facets of the Diamond: 75 years of Best Picture Winners,” will show “Braveheart” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Preceding the screening will be footage from the 68th Academy Awards telecast. Tickets can be purchased at the Academy and are $3 for students with valid I.D. New on CD
Singer/songwriter Mariah Carey’s “The Remixes” was released this week by her former record label, Sony Music. The two-disc album features some of Carey’s rarest R&B, pop and dance club mixes such as “Breakdown” featuring Krayzie Bone and Wish Bone, as well as 13 of her 15 No. 1 hit singles.

Opening in theaters today are “Mystic River,” a thriller/drama starring Sean Penn, Laurence Fishburne and Tim Robbins; and “Runaway Jury,” a drama starring John Cusack, Gene Heckman and Jennifer Beals; and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” a suspense thriller starring Jessica Biel, Eric Balfour and Lauren German.
