The Music Department will present “Music of Life and Love” in a student recital at 8 p.m. tonight in Founders Auditorium. General admission is $5 and free for ULV students.
Scott Farthing and University Choirs will conduct a Kids Club Concert at 10 a.m., Nov. 15 in Founders Auditorium. The 31st Annual American Music Awards will broadcast live at 8 p.m., Nov. 16 on ABC. Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will host this year’s awards. Some of this year’s nominees include Clay Aiken, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, 50 Cent, Shania Twain and Faith Hill. Ashanti, Sheryl Crow, Britney Spears, OutKast, Pink and Metallica are among the many performers. Tim McGraw, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson and Dennis Franz are just some of the stars that will be on hand as presenters.
Multi-platinum selling rapper Jay-Z’s latest and last album, “The Black Album,” was released today. The album, originally set for Nov. 28, was released early after unauthorized copies of the disc surfaced on file-sharing programs such as KaZaA and Morpheus. As an incentive for fans to purchase the new album, Jay-Z will give 10 fans a chance to win limited-edition books featuring lyrics and original artwork. Three other fans will have the chance to win a Mercedes.
