Photographer Don Bartletti will present a slideshow lecture in La Fetra Hall on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. A reception will follow the lecture in the Carlson Gallery.
As part of the L.A. County Fair’s 11 nights of entertainment, singer Willie Nelson will perform tonight on the Los Angeles Newspaper Group Grandstand Stage at 8 p.m. General admission to the concert is free with fair admission.
An artwork exhibition featuring Claremont artists will open on Oct. 1 and run through the entire month at the offices of the Claremont Community Foundation. It is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition will also include a silent auction with proceeds going to funding the visual arts.
Mezzo-soprano Lorraine Hunt will perform on opening night for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra at the Alex Theatre in Glendale on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $16 to $68 and can be purchased online at www.laco.org or by calling (213) 622-7001, ext. 215.
Rapper DMX debuts at the top of this weeks Billboard charts with his latest and last album, “Grand Champ,” selling 310,000 copies. A Perfect Circle landed at No. 2 with their album “Thirteenth Step,” while R&B singer Erykah Badu debuts at No. 3 with her latest, “Worldwide Underground.”
New in theaters today is “Under the Tuscan Sun,” starring Diane Lane, Raoul Bova, Sandra Oh and Lindsay Duncan.
