Quad Series

As part of the music department’s “Music on the Quad” series, Joseph Peck’s steel drum band will perform at noon Nov. 12 in the University Quad. This event is free.

Tour

Singer/songwriter Mariah Carey has extended plans for her “Charmbracelet” world tour, with new West Coast dates set through Dec. 22 in Costa Mesa.

Tickets for her shows at the Universal Amphitheater, Orange County Performing Arts Theatre, and the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara go on sale at 10 a.m. to the general public Nov. 8, 9 and 11, respectively. Prices range from $45 to $140 and can be purchased through ticketmaster. All dates are subject to change.

CD Releases

After a six-year hiatus, singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan is back with her latest disc, “Afterglow.” Released on Nov. 4, the album is a follow-up to her 1997 breakthrough album, “Surfacing.”

Theater

“Metamorphoses,” a play written by Mary Zimmerman and directed by Gary Krinke opens at 8 p.m. on Nov. 12 at Fullerton College in the Bronwyn Dodson Theatre. General admission is $15 and $12.50 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or by calling (909) 992-7433.

New on DVD

Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios’ undersea animated adventure, “Finding Nemo,” was released this week on DVD. The two-disc DVD features visual commentary with deleted scenes, recording sessions and “Making Nemo” documentary.
