Writer Jay A. Conger will have a conversation with University of La Verne faculty, students, and alumni over coffee Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the President’s Dining Room.
The Department of Public Administration will host the event to discuss Conger’s newest book entitled “Winning ‘Em Over: A New Model for Management in the Age of Persuasion.”
His book is about the skills it takes to become a successful manager and establish teamwork with shared vision for effective leadership. It stresses a four step program in building credibility, finding common ground, developing compelling positions and connecting emotionally with fellow employees.
Conger is an accomplished writer who has published more than 60 articles and has written five books. He is professor of organizational behavior at USC’s Marshall School of Business. Conger, who has been featured in such magazines as Business Week and The Wall Street Journal, has taught at the faculties of Harvard, INSEAD, and McGill University.
