Holiday Musical Spectacular

Holiday music will be performed by the University of La Verne chorale and chamber singers, plus various other choir groups, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Claremont United Church of Christ. Student admission is free with a student ID, $17 for seniors, and $20 general admission. Proof of vaccination required.

Guitar Ensemble Recital

The University of La Verne guitar ensemble will showcase its talents through contemporary genres including nuevo flamenco and Latin jazz, directed by Michael Ryan, at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Morgan Auditorium Admission is free.

‘If You Can Read the Ocean’

“If You Can Read the Ocean You Will Never be Lost,” a photography exhibit by Associate Professor of Photography Shannon Benine, is on display in the Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography in Miller Hall through Dec. 17.

‘Legacy and Legend’ 

Sadie Barnette’s exhibit, “Legacy and Legend,” is on display at the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College in Claremont. The exhibit explores the Black Panthers, a Black resistance group from the 1960s, and it connects the themes of social justice to familial ties through drawings and other media. The exhibit will be on view until Dec. 18. The museum is at 120 West Bonita Ave. Viewing is by appointment. To schedule an appointment, visit pitzer.edu/galleries.

‘Mind + Matter’ Exhibit

“Mind + Matter: Five Bay Area Sculptors’’ is on view through Jan. 23. at the American Museum of Ceramic Art which explores pop culture through abstract representations. The exhibit includes the work of Robert Brady, Arthur Gonzalez, Beverly Mayeri, Nancy Selvin and Richard Shaw. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Due to limited capacity, reservations are required. Last entry is 3 p.m. Admission is $5. For reservations and information, visit amoca.org.
