Tianna Cano, sophomore computer science major and Botany and Gardening Club president, works in the University of La Verne community garden. The garden, located behind the Health Center on E Street, was originally started by alumna Cassidy Furnari in 2015. Cano said she became involved because gardening reminds her of her great-grandmother, who she used to garden with before she passed away. The garden is Cano’s way of reconnecting with her. / photo by Celeste Drake
