Graduating seniors, faculty and staff gathered at the home of President and Mrs. Stephen Morgan on Wednesday, May 3, for the annual Senior Luncheon.
Master of Ceremonies Michael Houdyshell, coordinator of campus activities and commuter programs, said, “I’m just there to make it flow, because there is a certain flow to the whole thing.”
An official welcome by Dr. Morgan followed by a moment of silence, proceeded a speech by Jane Dibbell, associate professor of theatre arts.
The running theme for the luncheon was “Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver, and the other’s gold.”
Dibbell had the crowd sing the song because she was once asked what her last request was, and she had replied, “To have everyone at a faculty meeting sing together.”
Seniors Amy Attiyah and Araceli Esparza gave a brief and comedic overview of their four years at ULV. They also presented two “Make a Difference” awards to Associate Professor of Journalism Eric Bishop, and Michael Frantz, associate professor of mathematics.
Senior Kesley MorganArmstrong gave a speech that brought tears to the eyes of some audience members, and presented her father, Dr. Morgan with an award.
The luncheon concluded with a raffle and a singing of the Alma Mater.
