Philharmonic Tickets

The Inland Empire and Riverside County Philharmonic is offering two free tickets to each University of La Verne faculty, staff and students for its all Beethoven program on Friday, Nov. 3. The concert will take place at 8 p.m. at the Gardiner W. Spring Auditorium in Ontario.

In addition to the orchestra, 16-year-old Arthur Abadi will perform the piano solo in Beethoven’s “Emperor” concerto.

The Spork Festival, with L.A. Symphony, Flight 180, Off The Record, Broken Cedars and many other bands is on Dec. 2 at Grace Church in Glendora. Tickets are now on sale for $10 and are available at the Grace Church office, Lighthouse Christian Bookstores, or online at www.promiselandproductions.com.

“Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2” opens today. The long awaited and anticipated sequel to “The Blair Witch Project” is only a preview to the upcoming new trilogy.

Poetry

The DA Center for the Arts is sponsoring open poetry readings featuring “Poets in Distress” tonight at 8 p.m. Sign-ups begin at 7:30 p.m. The DA is located a 252-D S. Main Street in Pomona in the art district. For information, cal (909) 397-9716. The readings are free.
