Trucks serve wide variety of foods

Ten food trucks from Los Angeles pulled up Thursday evening at the Fairplex to give the community a variety of fast food.

The venue held 400 people who enjoyed music and food from trucks like New York Delicatessen on Wheels, Potato Corner and Riceball Officers.

The New York Delicatessen truck served burgers, sandwiches, melts and their famous fries where customers can add bacon, nacho cheese, buffalo chicken, ranch or pastrami.

“My favorite spot is the New York Delicatessen. The bacon garlic parmesan fries are dank,” Izzy Gutierrez from Highland Park, said. “But other than that I came with some friends to get a quick bite and have a good time with them.”

Vendors lined up with customers to buy from other trucks.

The Baby’s Badass Burger truck sold their Original Beauty Burger with swiss cheese, grilled onions and baby’s special sauce, and the American Girl Burger with smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles and baby’s special sauce.

The Baby’s Badass Burgers truck makes two to three stops per day throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

“I get to travel to places I have never been with the truck, such as Malibu, Culver City and Calabasas,” said server Niki Cohen. “We are one big family who enjoys experiencing it together.”

Crepes Bonaparte is known for its Hazel Berry Ana Crepe with strawberries, sliced bananas, Nutella, whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle.

“This is my first and probably last stop for the day at the event,” Roshad Leslie from Los Angeles, said. “I am usually not a big fan of dessert, but the apple pie crepe is really good.”

The event was a great way for people to try out new flavors, enjoy music and a fun, outgoing atmosphere within the community.

“It is my first time at an event like this,” University of La Verne alumnus Robert Lopez said.

“I was driving down White [Avenue] and saw on the banners that they were going to have food trucks today, so I decided to stop by and see what it is about. I have tried the boba – it is not as bad as I expected.”
