Lantern Festival

The Chinese Lantern Festival is back at the Fairplex in Pomona from Nov. 21 to Jan. 3.

This year’s theme is blooming seasons, where lanterns inspired by nature will depict differing topics such as the Amazon Rainforest, carnivorous plants, holiday themed displays and more. An authentic Chinese folk concert and traditional dance show will also be offered.

The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday every week.

‘Facing our Truth’

The theater department will present “Facing Our Truth: Short Plays on Trayvon, Race and Privilege” over the course of two weekends.

The short plays allow the audience a glimpse into what it means to grow up black in America, as well as providing an opportunity for guests to engage with one another regarding the injustices America is facing today.

The play will run at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Nov. 21-23, along with a 2 p.m. matinée showing Nov. 24, in the Dailey Theatre.

There is a suggested donation of $1 for students at the door.

Holiday Chorale

The University Chorale and Chamber Singers will perform their annual Holiday Spectacular from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 8 in Morgan Auditorium.

Admission is free.

Theo Clarke

The Harris Gallery will feature a new exhibit, “Juno, A New Renaissance,” by artist Theo Clarke. The exhibit follows NASA’s Juno mission to Jupiter through PowerPoint, video and audio recordings.

An artist talk and reception will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Harris Gallery.
