Skipworth steps down

Stanley Skipworth, director of Campus Safety and Transportation, will be leaving the University to consult in law enforcement at the Claremont Colleges. Today is his last day.

“The work that he’s done to increase the professionalism, training and certification of staff and services offered has made a tremendous difference on campus,” said Clive Houston-Brown, vice president of facilities and technology. “We’re sorry to see him go.”

Houston-Brown said a search for Skipworth’s replacement is underway.

“It’s a high profile decision, so we want to make sure we’ve got the right person in that role,” he said.

Skipworth, who came to the University in January 2013, has led Campus Safety to numerous awards and recognition, spearheaded the implementation of the Blue Lights last spring and launched the Leo Safe App in the summer.
